The unfortunately coined Twin Towers were a set of two office buildings made by Matt in his town of New Halifax. They were constructed as one of the first known flexes of Matt's extensive mining capabilities, with the intent to make as many towers as necessary for a downtown sector of the town that was flattened for build but was never constructed (see right of image).
Due to its tedious repetitive nature of building and issue of the buildings being hollow inside and in usage, the quantity of towers coincidentally ended at two. This resulted in understandably valid mockery, where the towers' unofficial name came to pass, first proposed by David.
