The Hopper Hideaway was a multi-tiered base constructed by Matt during the Fluttershy server. Initially a sole underground building modeled off a hopper and chest, it eventually evolved into a hub of Matt's projects, including World 1-2.

Areas of Interest

The Storage Chest

The Storage Chest is the core component of the Hopper Hideaway base, and acted as the major storage area for Matt on the server. It was modeled after a chest, and its main entrance was through a surface entrance drop via a coal block-built structure resembling a giant hopper. It acted as the primary base of operations for the first half of the server before the base's subsequent expansion.

A dedicated exit was later added for the area, which funneled into the server's Subway System.

The Hideaway

The Hideaway, a home area within Hopper Hideaway

The Hideaway is a home and workshop area built by Matt further into the server. It featured various themed, and often incomplete, rooms that catered to various services. It included a bedroom, kitchen, enchanting room, concrete room, and aquarium with pet squids inside. It was accessible via a black concrete section that also connected with World 1-2, which obscured it from view of passerby's.

The Workshop

Slime Farm inside The Workshop

The Workshop was accessible via a downward spiral staircase and existed as a hodge-podge of experiments and development of new Minecraft capabilities for Matt. It featured an early concept design for a dedicated storage system, as well as a functional slime farm.

Other Projects

Several other build projects can be found scattered around the base, although all of them were in varying conditions of incomplete by the end of the server. Within the spiral staircase was a B1F area dedicated to all available farm crops, which was never decorated and ignored in favor of the Automatic Pumpkin Farm. A pen area for Matt's pet horse, Caffine, was mined out but never decorated aside from the birch fences keeping the horse inside. An expansion to work alongside the World 1-2 project was also planned, but never enacted. Various empty mined out rooms can also be found scattered around the area that ultimately never served a purpose.

Trivia

  • Various elements from this server would be reused by Matt in subsequent worlds. The idea of a giant chest building would be seen again in Matt's Supersized and Neon Buildings bases, while the idea of an automated storage system would be fully realized in 2019 Dark Oak Village base, and would be used in every server since.
