The Bunker was an excavation site and build project created by Matt on the Castles & Casinos & Villages server, located outside his Dark Oak village. The interior of the bunker is exactly 50 blocks deep, and its center core was dug out 49x49. The Bunker had three major floors.

Background

The Bunker was constructed for two purposes, as a joint excavation project for stone mining and a 'shelter' for survivors of a theoretical fallout with the intent to outfit with automated farms as well as research rooms for foreign & interdimensional substances. The excavation project was completed in its entirety, with the bunker being dug all the way down to bedrock. However, the shelter build project was never fully realized, only coming to house an automated cactus farm, as well as research facilities for cocoa beans and chorus fruit.

As a Christmas present for the Christmas 2019 celebration, the Bunker became repurposed into a sanctuary for pandas.

Trivia

  • With the dimensions of the core being 49x50x49, the center portion of the bunker equated to approximately 120,050 mined stone blocks.
    • Considering this, the project solely contributed towards the thresholds required for the 'Mountain Mover' (50k stone) 'Earth Excavator' (75k stone), and 'Bunker Buster' (100k stone) custom advancements.
