The Inverted Pyramid was a nether portal area built by Matt on the Road to Nowhere server. The portal was placed atop a stained glass pyramid sculpture display, and provided quick access for Matt to the desert for the sand that went into his Super Highway. Design-wise, it didn't symbolize anything, it was just an attempt at creating a unique nether portal area themed around its biome.
