Due to the changes in chicken hitboxes, the farm design changed to make it much more effective and efficient. These changes happened in Minecraft 1.21.5. Ironically, this update to chickens caused the old style of chicken farm, as featured in The Minecraft Movie, to not work at all. The change meant that chicks waiting in the lava chamber would now get hit by eggs being added from a dispenser, whereas that was not the case prior to 1.21.5.

In my chicken farm, the chicken came first, not the egg. There are 10 chicken chambers, a 1 block area that serve as egg collectors. There are ~20 chickens in each, no more than 24 though. The small space and separation is necessary to prevent entity cramming, something that can be caused be a player walking by with seeds in hand. This farm produces ~200 eggs on average in 7.5 minutes. That is a lot of eggs.

This ~~page will be updated if/when~~ that ~~happens~~.		In the same time frame, on average this farm produces 27.4 chickens in that time. Let's look at the hourly stats now to make it easier to understand. In one hour the farm will produce roughly 1600 eggs, which then averages into 219 chicken per hour. That's a lot of chicken, enough to feel a small town, conveniently.

			The chambers for the chicken-to-be-cooked are designed differently to accommodate the change to hitboxes. Now the eggs are dispensed onto a wall, in this case glass. Then since chickens fall straight down they are then collected next to a cauldron. There is also a fence post to ensure that the chickens are pushed into the lava cauldron and cooked when they grow from chicks. This also prevents the loss of cooked chicken that a traditional system faces, as the lava would consistently burn either the chicken or feathers in the same tick that a hopper would pick up an item, resulting in massive inefficiency.

			The fountain's design was meant to fit in with the park area surrounding it, and the cherry blossom trees that got planted in the area. The fountain features a cherry blossom tree right in the centre, and behind that is a geyser where the chicken comes out.

			Hopper minecarts have been strategically placed to catch chicken as it comes out so that there are a few stacks always available.
